Tightening stem and seat bolts without a torque wrench? For shame!
Especially if they’re carbon fiber.
Rechecking for bolt tightness without using a torque wrench inevitability
leads to over-torqued bolts after time.
1:44 god, please be careful. have lost so much skin and gained so much
grief doing that.
I’m still a bit confused about chains
Good advice except for the tyre pressure. If you really want to set your
tyre pressure smartly, you need to consider the weight on the tyre and the
tyre size. The advice offered in this video is wrong for many situations.
The lighter the weight on the tyres, the less pressure you should use. The
larger the tyre width, the less pressure you should use. There are a
variety of good apps that can help you calculate the correct tyre pressure
for each wheel based on the rider’s weight distribution on the wheels, the
bike weight and the tyre size. For general riding on flat roads or gently
rolling hills, the goal is usually a 15% compression of the tyre height
(between the rim and the road surface).
Why so much hate on people not using torque wrenches? An uncalibrated low
quality torque wrench can often do more harm than good. Common sense and
mechanical inclination are perfectly acceptable alternatives.
I keep thinking the guy in the Yellow/Maroon kit rides for Top
Bonk-Schleppers…
We need a video on how to deal with road rage/angry drivers I think
Great stuff. I learned a lot
At :36 seconds the lube is applied to the wrong side of the chain. Also
where’s the torque wrench??? Or should people just tighten randomly, or
just keep tightening after every ride until something breaks?
Got a 3T Arx stem that seems like a little rust in the bolt, stem is less
than a year, should I replace the bolt ?
1:39 It’s insane to grab the seat stay while spinning the rear wheel that
fast!
use a bike stand man
