I find it’s best if you stop and talk to the dog in a non aggressive way
kind of like how you might imagine a crazy cat lady talking to her cats. (I
know it’s weird talking to a dog but it seems to work also don’t call the
dog names they are smart enough to know when you are being an arse) If the
dog growls you know it could go aggresive at any moment which is when you
walk backwards away, but in almost all cases the dog just barks and most of
the time the dog will let you know if he doesn’t like something you are
doing, in which case simply don’t do that thing. It should also be
mentioned if you are unfamiliar with the dog don’t pet it. If you know the
dog or have met it before when his owner was around you’ll likely be fine
but otherwise don’t do it.
