Many mountain bikers choose to buy their bikes online. Most major internet retailers package their bikes up in a similar way the Scott’s GT Sanction in this video. That is to say, it should be easy enough to build up, and you won’t need too many tools. Check out the video and let us know how you get on!
Just one minor word of warning, if you’re unsure about anything when you’re building your bike up, head over to a bike shop and get them to build it up. It’s a safety thing.

you should do.a video building a bike from frame up
I love streams.
+MrWtfchicken yeah
Be cool if they did it in a live stream too
+TheMrDavidCurran mountain bikes are probally harder for some of the reasons you just said mountain biking the position is even more important if you dont have it right you crash front wheel washing out or other stuff breaking
+Tucker Steward The longest part of custom builds is cutting down steerers and shortening/bleeding cables and brakes.
For mountain bikes it’s a lot easier, but for roadies, you have to be spot on due to the fact you normally spend three hours in almost the same position.
That bike is SUPER NICE !!
if it wasnt for the boring black colour…
Makes me miss my o.g. GT I-Drive with the eccentric BB.
Anyone else notice that plastic behind the cassette spinning annoyingly -.-
Don’t necessarily need to remove the cassette. I snapped it into peaces with a pair of pliers! Worked for me 😀
Minh Ngô Nhật need to remove the cassette
Global Mountain Bike Network how to move that plastic out ?
+Sebastian Kozlowski it’ll be going… 😉
+Sebastian Kozlowski …I did LOL
Worked at a shop, built 100s of bikes from the box, still watched the video. Yup, I’m addicted to bikes.
Is greasing the seat tube and the bolts of the stem really so important?
Get rid of it that dork disc asap
+Moose it’ll go!
I’ve still got mine on, I’ll let it naturally brake and fall off…or take it off when I give it a deep clean.
all ways done my own custom builds so I’m still watching this video as I’m addict to bikes lol
Reflectors for maximum coolness! 🙂
