KGV 2015 Season Highlights Stay Motivated Downhill mountain biking
Jackson Hole Resort is an awesome mountain bike park! Although it is a small park, there are plenty of trails to have fun on. Everything from easy to advanced, although there are no “traditional DH” trails, there is alot of flow based trail with and a hearty amount of medium to large jumps that are timed perfectly! Most being tabletops, I would highly recommend this park for a beginner level rider as well as the dirt jump crew! The trails are great and the tack is just loose enough to slide the bike around but also rail the burm with no brakes and still have traction. Also some beginner trails for the new rider and or an adventurous family. Trestle is epic. the entire experience is great “except the price!” Gotta pay to play I guess. It is a world class resort and mostly world class trails. There is a great variety of trail terrain and obstacles, mostly geared toward intermediate to advanced riding. There are some green runs that are beginner friendly. They practically become full blown cross country circuits on a downhill bike though. There is nothing like climbing on your DH bike! LOL! Definitely a one of our favorite parks soo far! Last but not least, Spirit Mountain is a diamond in the rough, or should I say flat? Minnesota is seriously lacking downhill style riding and suporting parks. Soo much that the bike shops dont even carry anything beefier than a lite cross country bike. Shops and manufacturers are missing out in the midwest but Its going to take more ski resorts to get with the times and jump on board. There is money to be had for some and for for all. There is only one lift/shuttle access location in the 10,000 lakes area and thats Spirit. Spirit is bang for the buck, the best riding experience you could ask for at a lift pass of just $25. Though the park is small like Jackson, Spirit has more character with its trail terrain. Everything from beginner to jumps, to rocks, drop ins, technical, flow and an a very interesting downhill trail. Overall I recommend all three to most riders. Thanks for watching.
