The penultimate round of the UCI MTB World Cup in Mont Sainte Anne, Canada, began with only 186 points separating the top three women in the fight for the overall title. With the field still wide open, the pressure was on for Myriam Nicole, Tracey Hannah and Tahnée Seagrave to get as many points as possible.
As the top three riders took to the track, it was Seagrave who sat in the hot seat after taking it from Swiss rider Emilie Siegenthaler, beating her time by over 12 seconds.

No such thing as politically correct when it comes to anatomy and physiology. Your question is rhetorical.
I think aside from any strength differences, the mens have much more top level riders, which is why they push themselves harder. Men were probably faster through the fast sections, not because they are necessarily better riders, but because in order to compete at world level they have to go all out. No disrespect to the female competitors intended, they show absolutely insane skill any of us average riders can only dream of.
Line choice. Men may choose a more aggressive line choice, add that all up and its a big gap!
