How To Winter-Proof Your Road Bike
Winter can be tough on your bike. You can protect it from the worst of the elements though, so here’s our guide to winter-proofing your road bike.
Subscribe to GCN: http://gcn.eu/SubscribeToGCNIf you’re not careful, winter can take its toll on your pride and joy. While some cyclists choose to have a winter specific bike to protect their summer bike, this isn’t an option for all of us. What is an option, however, is making sure that your bike is protected as well as possible going in to winter. Combine that with regular cleaning and maintenance and you’ll find that your bike will run smoothly, with no extra damage and that you’ll be ready to go when summer comes around again.
Do you use one bike all year or have a winter bike?

i really fail to see why a few people are apparently so shocked and
appalled that GCN has sponsors, whose products, occassionally are talked
about and perhaps appear on screen in their videos……its exactly this
sponsorship that keeps GCN free to us, the viewer……do these critics
ever read a cycling magazine without adverts inside?….thought not, as
they dont exist…..how else are GCN supposed to produce this content for
us? with what other bussiness model?…….sudscription?…..with thin air
and a wry smile?………personally i think its a great value channel and
long may it last
Whatever happened to having a crappy winter nail with full guards and not a
single piece of carbon fibre in sight? That way you only need to clean it
once a month!

The smell of Muc-Off Products makes me hungry….. Maybe Muc-Off should get
into the cycling food market, here comes such classics as, Muc-off BioGel
and Muc-Off BioBars, Heck lets just go all the way and have Muc-Off Sports
Drink in Biodegradable Bottles that tastes like De-Greaser but smells like
Strawberry Shortcake…….. Do you think they will Hire me?
Mudguards are really necessary, if you are riding with a group in winter.
At least in very wet conditions.
In my club you are not allowed to participate on group rides without them.
do arse savers work with selle smp saddles?
Fenders!!! Oh dear
haha winter in Bloemfonein South Africa is about as dry as Dan’s sense of
humor 😉 thanks for the tips Si but no need for them here.. more likely to
use them in summer when the light sprinkles come on.
Not impressed by all the adverts. It felt really fake. What i have always
liked About gcn is what felt like genuine advice from3+ blokes who “knew”
what they were doing. This made my skin crawl.
