Although disc brakes pretty much remove the issue of a buckled wheel, you can still suffer the consequences of a big hit on a downhill. Now, it has to be a really big smash for your wheel, but, in some cases you can bend your disc brake rotor. This is something that you need to fix ASAP – bent rotors can play havoc with your disc brake pistons and more.
There are a couple of fixes for this one. If you still want to use your brake (we’d recommend this route), try bending it back like we show you in the video.

Post this on GCN and watch the comments for the roadies to whine about how
awful disc brakes are and that it’s just the bike companies trying to make
us buy new stuff.
Roc d’Azur trail ? :D
Top tip: After mending it by hand, ride for a while with the brake on (just
enough to still keep the wheel turning). You’ll find it gets quite a lot
better after about 1km :)
Bent rotors suuuuuck, LOL! Good tip!
when you do this tutorials do you brake your bike on purpose? sounds kinda
dumb to me lol
What are Marc’s gloves ?
Should you also use your thumbs to clean the dog s**t off your tire Marc?
Anyone have a guess at that seat model at the beginning of the video?
Maybe you should make a video that is not so obvious. I mean, what else can
you do other than bending the thing…
the valve seems to be a bit long !
What’s the correct tool for doing this tho? Would love to know how to fix
this when you get home. Thanks!
likin the new ride marc!
