ROCC Vlog 3 Finding bikes built for bigger people
The weekly update, as well as a a bit of a chat about bicycles made for obese / larger people. Considering that I’m on the cusp of MOST weight ratings, this was something I wanted to find.
And some of the links in the video :
Worksman Cycles : http://www.worksmancycles.com/ Look at the MG-R, but I want a decked out M2600!
Surly : http://surlybikes.com/ Look at the Trucker line
Yuba : http://yubabikes.com/ Look at the Mundo series
Douze : http://www.douze-cycles.com/ More on the CARGO side, but solid machines.
Republic : http://www.republicbike.com/ They do cargo bikes, but they also custom build.
I live in Wisconsin, USA, and do most of my riding outside of Milwaukee. I like riding on the trails, but I do some road and offroad as well.
Videos on this channel are filmed by myself using an onboard camera mounted to my helmet or my bicycle. Music used under a “Creative Commons” licence, and is credited in the video as they play as necessary. Any and all profits from these videos will go into bicycle maintenance and parts, as well as better equipment.
I’ll throw Kona bikes (KonaWorld.com) hat into the ring for sturdy bikes.
They make some very nice steel frames as well as Titanium (they do Aluminum
and Carbon fiber as well) and some more utility biased frames. Most brands
of frames can take 250 pounds or more but it is the lower end components
and wheels on the box mart bikes that can’t handle the weight.
If you have access to a shop go look on http://www.atomiczombie.com They
have bike plans that span a wide range of interests. Plans include two,
three, and four wheelers. They have standard as well as recombinant types.
